Courses

In cooperation with Security Region South Holland South, Spinel Security Center organizes specialist courses to become ánd stay competent. A well thought-out method is used to work on personal and measurable growth as a security professional.

Firefighter Fundamentals

The Firefighter Fundamentals course contains the basis you need to work in the fire-service. It consists of the core tasks: fire-fighting, technical assistance, incident management hazardous materials and water incidents.

 

Requirements

  • Preparatory secondary vocational education (VMBO) educational level
  • Medical approval for working with respiratory protection
  • Minimum age of 18

Officer In Charge

The Officer In Charge course consists of leading the pump water tender crew, completed with a rescue vehicle or accident unit if necessary. The officer in charge has a lot of responsibility.
An officer in charge must possess the knowledge and skills based on the core tasks:
• Fire-fighting
• Technical assistance
• Incident management hazardous materials
• Water incidents

The four core tasks are based on the four phases of an incident, namely:
1. Turn out
2. Scout
3. Action
4. Aftercare

 

Requirements

  • Intermediate vocational education 3 (MBO3) educational level
  • In possession of a Firefighter Fundamentals diploma

Vehicle Operator

This course consists of several parts. Part A, basic knowledge vehicle operator, is compulsory. After that, a choice can be made between part B, pump operator, and/or part C, rescue vehicle operator. Part C, rescue vehicle operator, is an internal course within your fire department. It is assessed with a test card.

 

Requirements:

  • Preparatory secondary vocational education (VMBO) educational level
  • In possession of a Firefighter Fundamentals diploma
  • In possession of a valid (equivalent of) the Dutch driver’s license category B

Fire Service Vehicle Operator

De Fire Service Vehicle Operator course consists of making sure the vehicle gets at its destination appropriately. The branch guidelines ‘visual and sound signals fire brigade’ are applied depending on priority.

 

Requirements:

  • Preparatory secondary vocational education (VMBO) educational level
  • For Fire Service Vehicle Operator big: in possession of a valid (equivalent of) the Dutch driver’s license category B and C
  • For Fire Service Vehicle Operator small: in possession of a valid (equivalent of) the Dutch driver’s license category B

Hazardous Material Awareness – First Responder

The Hazardous Material Awareness – First Responder course consists of activities related to incident management hazardous materials. A measuring crew is formed, consisting of hazardous material specialists. The course member will observe and measure in the field under orders of a measuring crew leader, a warning expert, a scouting expert and if necessary the hazardous material advisor.

 

Requirements:

  • Intermediate vocational education 3 (MBO3) educational level
  • In possession of a Firefighter Fundamentals diploma

Hazardous Material Awareness – Suits And Incident Control

The Hazardous Material Awareness  -Suits And Incident Control course consists of activities related to incident management hazardous materials. There are standard procedures for gas-tight suit actions. After this course the course member will be able to execute a team action as part of incident management hazardous materials.

 

Requirements:

  • intermediate vocational education 3 (MBO3) educational level
  • in possession of a Firefighter Fundamentals diploma

Practice instructor

After this course  the course member will be able to organize exercises independently.
The lessons consist of many field exercises, related to organizing, executing and evaluating exercises. This course can be completed with three daily periods of basic didactics.

 

Requirements:

  • Intermediate vocational education 3 (MBO3) educational level
  • In possession of a Firefighter Fundamentals diploma

Instructor

The Instructor course offers skills to become and stay competent as a fireman/-woman. In this course a modern method of teaching is used, in which the course member is mostly learning through active working methods. The core tasks in this course are: acting didactically, guiding the participants, assessing the participants and functioning within the organization.

 

Requirements:

  • Intermediate vocational education 3 (MBO3) educational level
  • Minimum age of 18
  • In possession of a Firefighter Fundamentals diploma

We only work with the best teachers. To continue to develop yourself, we also offer courses to grow as a teacher, team manager or instructor.

We offer personal and measurable growth as a professional. We use a circular process with personal attention and a good evaluation technique to work on your personal growth as a safety professional.
